FOUNDER
BRAD GILLIES
Program Director Brad Gillies is a current member of the Rochester Knighthawks in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Brad founded Roots with the mission to bring authentic box lacrosse to the Rochester area. Tired of seeing field lacrosse being played inside box rinks, he wanted to utilize his expertise to teach kids the true fundamentals of box so they could reap the benefits it has to offer. Brad grew up in Oakville, Ontario, playing primarily box lacrosse. Collegiately, he attended RIT where he excelled on both sides of the field. Since being drafted by the Knighthawks in 2015, Brad has made Rochester his home and worked to bring real box programs to Rochester youth.
